Your inputs stay on your device

Every calculation on Free BTU Calculator(room dimensions, ceiling height, sun exposure and so on) runs in JavaScript in your browser. The values you enter are not transmitted to, stored on, or visible to us. If you use the “copy shareable link” button, your inputs are encoded in that URL and shared only with whoever you send it to.

What we collect

Standard, aggregate web analytics via Google Analytics: pages visited, approximate region (country or state level), device and browser type, and referral source. We use this to see which pages help people and to fix problems. We do not collect names, email addresses (unless you email us), or precise location.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve the site and defend against abuse, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Free BTU Calculator is or will be supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where you have consented. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.

Cookies

We set no tracking cookies of our own. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies, including first-party analytics cookies such as _ga, as described above. Your browser settings and the opt-out links control these.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and similar laws), you may have the right to access, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we hold essentially no personal data, most requests concern our analytics and ad partners; use the opt-out links above or email us and we will help.

Children

Free BTU Calculator is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will update this page when practices change and revise the date above.
